Discover Uzès and its surroundings

Located between the Rhône Valley, the Camargue and the Cévennes, Uzège is a land rich in history, with landscapes characterized by scrubland alternating with cultivated valleys with hillsides covered with vines, olive trees and lavender fields... But Uzège is also revealed through the incredible architectural richness of Uzès, and the many surrounding villages. Among all the exceptional sites offered by our region, we invite you to discover three places not to be missed...

Le pont du GARD

A masterpiece of ancient architecture, the Pont du Gard is one of the best preserved Roman remains in the world. Discover a grandiose monument at the heart of the route of this Roman aqueduct.

Uzès

Uzès, city of art and history, dominates the Eure valley, you cannot miss it: its silhouette is recognizable at first glance, with its perfectly preserved medieval architecture. You can stroll through its medieval streets. Discover the charming Place aux Herbes where the largest market in Occitania is held every Wednesday and every Saturday, which will delight you with its scents and colors. If you prefer nature, enjoy the freshness and tranquility of the Eure valley, at the foot of Uzès.

La vallée du Gardon

The Gardon (or Gard) river gave its name to our department. Wild and unpredictable, the Gardon is fed by several tributaries that originate in the Cévennes. The river crosses the entire Gard department before flowing into the Rhône. It is particularly famous for its impressive gorges, shaped over millions of years, which offer breathtaking panoramas. Go to meet it by taking the hiking trails, by traversing the waters of the Gardon in a canoe-kayak, or quite simply by enjoying a day swimming at the edge of the water.
